Tips: Summer Hair Care

Category : Uncategorized

Did you know that the same UV rays that damage your skin, will also cause damage to your hair? Too much sun can leave hair dry, brittle and faded.

Here are serious summer hair advice to keep your locks in tip-top shape this season.

  1. Wear a hat or cover your hair with a scarf as often as possible.

  2. Give heat styling a break. Go natural as much as possible i.e. less blow drying and product.

  3. Wet your hair before you enter the pool. This way it will absorb lesser chlorine.

  4. A hot oil rinse is non-negotiable in the summers. After shampooing your hair, heat any natural oil (coconut, almond or olive) and apply it to your hair from the tips to the roots. Your hair will feel soft and healthy instantly.

  5. After applying sunscreen on your body, simply run your fingers through your hair and let the residual sunscreen protect your hair from UV rays.summer hair tips rock paper scissors hair salon durbanville

  6. This is when you see split ends and dry tips, and this is neither healthy for your hair, nor do they look good. Book a trim that will take care of the ends and bring back life to your hair.

  7. Drink more water. Your hair and your skin will benefit immensely from the amount of water and extra fluids that you have. So opt for cooling liquids that will help you keep your hair healthy and hydrated. Include as many fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet as you can. This is an essential hair care tip for summer.

  8. Co-wash your hair which means conditioner-washing. It is the ideal summer care for hair. Just wet your hair, use a replenishing conditioner (without a shampoo first) for 2 minutes and rinse off. Yes, co-washing hair daily does cleanse to a major extent and limits shampooing for 3-4 days.

If the cat walk is anything to go by, it looks like the nude or invisible brow might be an up and coming trend in the beauty world. Also known as the anti-brow.
